Mindestlohnanstieg voraussichtlich niedriger als erwartet

Die zum 1. Januar 2017 anstehende erstmalige Erhöhung des Mindestlohns wird voraussichtlich niedriger ausfallen als zunächst erwartet.

Zum 1. Januar 2017 wird der gesetzliche Mindestlohn erstmals nach den Vorgaben der von Gewerkschaften und Arbeitgebern gebildeten Mindestlohnkommission an die Tarifentwicklung angepasst. Während eine erste Berechnung von Wirtschaftswissenschaftlern auf der Grundlage der Tarifentwicklung in 2014 und 2015 eine Erhöhung um 5,4 % auf 8,97 Euro ergab, legt ein Bericht der Süddeutschen Zeitung nahe, dass die Erhöhung nicht so hoch ausfallen wird. Demnach hat sich die Mindestlohnkommission entschlossen, die Tarifentwicklung erst ab 2015 zu berücksichtigen, weil der Mindestlohn 2015 in Kraft getreten ist. Zusammen mit den Abschlüssen im ersten Halbjahr 2016 ergäbe das einen neuen Mindestlohn für 2017 in einer Größenordnung von 8,85 Euro.
